A GIANT decides to walk away!

AP - Noblesville. In a shocking news conference held today in the Flaherty household, Sean Flaherty announced to a room filled with fellow gamers, designers, programmers that he would be retiring from professional gaming. "Today, it is with much regret that I must put down the mouse and keyboard and focus on other more important things in my life." his voice often cracking with emotion and needing several pauses to continue. "I just can't hot-key like I used to anymore. I feel that I cannot perform at such a high level anymore. My fingers are shot."
With his announcement, shockwaves are being felt throughout the gaming community. One game studio had even tried to coax him out of retiring by offering him free lifetime membership, access to all beta testing, but to no avail. "He is an extremely determined person. His input will be sorely missed and we wish him the best on his future endeavors." When pressed what will become of their company, the unnamed designer shrugged him shoulders "probably declared bankruptcy.". Other gamers weighed in on their opinions. "He was a leader, an inspiration. I'll never forget his 36 hour marathon. He is an iron-man!" "Can I have your stuff?' Was the response from another gamer. "Are you kidding me?" his loving wife was overheard commenting.
When the conference ended, there were immediate calls to seek for a replacement. There is no doubt he will be a first round Hall of Famer. The question now is, what does the future hold for Sean? Analyst predicted penning a book was in the works. "It is without a doubt, he is retiring so that he could really finish his book." He continues, "he has confessed to me that is hard to write when a game is just a click away."
Console gamers will no doubt view this as a victory as another PC Gamer Warrior calls it quits.
A side note to this devastating news today, was as the announcement went out, Bill Gate's and Steve Job's heads exploded as they heard the news.

Passage of the day!
Jas 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
Jas 1:3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Jas 1:4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Jas 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Jas 1:6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Jas 1:7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;
Jas 1:8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
Jas 1:9 The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position.

Thoughts!
I have a question for everyone, do you ever get bored with the internet? I sometimes find myself getting bored with it, I find myself going to the same websites. So I have decided lets trade some favorite websites. Leave a comment on some of your favorite sites that you like to visit. Then maybe we can keep the internet from getting boring!
Today's Passage
Jn 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Jn 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Jn 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Jn 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Jn 3:20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Jn 3:21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

Starting the journey to end the Fatness!
As I posted earlier I have what the doctor's call "a bit of a weight problem!". For the past 10 to 12 years I have really let myself get out of shape. Now with tomorrow being my 36th birthday (Please hold the applause) I am looking at my life in two segments. The first 18 years, and the last 18 years. The first 18 years, I was a young and could eat whatever and it didn't matter. Now however I don't eat very healthy and it shows, so its time for a change. Now I have tried in the past with some success to lose weight, only to put it right back on. So this is going to be a little different, one I need to look at what I eat and how much I eat. In an effort to do this I am going to add a new post called "What did Scott eat today?". This will be a way for me to hold myself accountable, by letting the world know everyday what I consumed! I would like to lose at least 80 pounds, as my current weight is about 250. Lets ponder that for a moment 250 pounds + 5'8"= Really to fat for my own good! So wish me luck and send me some encouragement and a kick in the booty when needed as I start the journey to rid myself of the Fat Man!

A little DIY project!
Let me begin this by saying I am not a handy man, do-it yourself kinda guy. Heather often becomes frustrated with me because of this, she would like it if I was able to fix things around the house. Some of my friends are great at doing project in there home's like wiring, putting in cabinets, flooring etc... That is just not me, I can do some simple things around the house and with the cars, but big projects, like finishing my bathroom that is currently functional, but nowhere near complete I am just not able to do. But I have noticed that when it is something I like, I can pretty much do anything, even on a low budget. Take for instance this little DIY project I did when we first moved into the house.
I had always wanted a Koi pond, so when we bought the house I was excited to put one in. Now keep in mind I looked around at different place to see what is was going to cost me then figured what size pond I wanted, well let just say it was going to be expensive. So this caused me to start thinking, which is a good thing in the case. I realized how much I had to spend and then began to plan it out. So I guess to start this out my big plan would have cost probably about $3500 to $4000 to do it big like I wanted. My budget for this little project however was only about $150, so I really had to think this out. I wanted a pond that would be about 1000 gallons and about 4' by 8'. So long story short, I was able to do just that, with in my budget. I used landscape timbers, 6millimeter black plastic, which cost me about $40 bucks, got a pump for about $80, and added a DIY filter box for about $20. That completed the pond, I then began looking for ways to improve it, the next summer I bought some lights, and a UV sterilizer on clearance at local pet store for $30 each, (would have been $350 reg retail) which really put the finishing touches on it. We did buy some koi's for the pond slowly and didn't pay more than $10 for a new fish. This summer we are going to double the size of the pond, again on a low budget so stay tuned I will blog that project when it begins. My next post I will tell you about another DIY project that I am currently working on.
I guess the point of this and what has me thinking is that if we share ideas like this we can do just about anything even on a small budget. So let me throw this idea out to you, you may be good at something that others are not, let's share some idea's, and help each other out. If you can think of some ways to help finish my bathroom please share them with me, or if you have a project you would like to do let me know about it maybe I can help you.
